HOME & COMMUNITY CARE · FORTH VALLEY, LOTHIAN, GLASGOW & LANARKSHIRE
Social Support
Companionship and meaningful connection. Isolation is as damaging as any physical need — these visits are about company and staying part of your community.
What the visits include
Time together at home — a cup of tea, a chat, cards, the crossword
Walks locally, trips into Larbert or Falkirk, a coffee out
Getting to appointments, church, clubs and day centres
Shopping, post office, prescriptions and paperwork
How it usually works
Social support works best in longer visits — an hour or two at the same time each week, with the same carer, so a real relationship has room to form. Many families add these visits alongside care at home.
